Catch Me If You Can

U. S. Coast Guard

U.S. Coast Guard 41453. This is also the cover of my book.
A little about what I did in the U.S.C.G.

I went into the U.C. Coast Guard in March of 1976 and got out in June of 1986. I was station in Cape May N.J. on the 180 ft. buoy tender Sassafras. We took care of the buoys in the Delaware Bay and part of the Atlantic Ocean from Ocean City Md. to Long Branch N.J. But while there I went as far as Cape Cod to the north and made a trip to Guantanamo bay Cube with a side trip to Kingston Jamaica.

I worked my way up to leading seaman before I transferred to Station Taylor’s Island Md. I was a boat coxswain and run a boat crew for SAR (search and rescues for 2 years. There we took care of anything that came up as far as SAR in the area form Point lookout north to North Beach and covering all river and creeks we could. I reenlisted there for six more years.

I transferred to the Kanawha in Memphis Tn. where I made 2nd class and ran the buoy deck once again. I ran the buoy deck setting the buoys on the Mississippi River from Helena Ms. to Caruthersville Mo. But made trips all the way up and into the Ohio river as far as the Tennessee River and as far south as the ship yards in Vicksburg Ms.

After two and half years I went to St. Inigose Md. And was the XO of the Aid to navigation team. There we took care of the buoys and marker on the Potomac, Patuxent river and the west part of the Chesapeake Bay. After that I got out and moved back to Memphis Tn.

I wrote a book about :
A 2nd class boatswain in the U.S. Coast Guard moves his family to Taylor Island Maryland.   When he finds a drug dealer in his back yard, he knew he had to find a way to keep his family safe.  His neighbor is a Deputy and they work together to put a stop to it.
